Confidentiality

We will have a confidentiality agreement. In very rare circumstances I reserve the right to extend confidentiality, maybe to your GP or another party. This is only when there appears to be a serious and imminent risk to your own or to other's safety, or if you make me aware of serious illegal activities. Even in these circumstances I would normally seek to speak to you first before contacting anyone else. Please ask if you have any questions on this policy.

Professional Memberships

I am student member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). As such I am bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and subject to the professional conduct procedure therein.

Supervision

As required by BACP Ethical Framework I meet regularly with my supervisor. S/he is a more experienced Counsellor who is qualified to supervise Counsellors. These meetings ensure that I am working within ethical boundaries. I may occasionally discuss with my supervisor aspects of the work I am doing with you - but your full name will never be disclosed or other identifying information.
